How Geppetto credits work

Every image generation, edit, and template conversion in Geppetto uses credits.

Credits are how Geppetto measures usage. Your organization gets a credit allocation — either through a Geppetto subscription or through one-time credit purchases — and each credit-consuming action draws from that pool.

What uses credits

Every action in the Image Editor and the Create Media flow uses credits:

Action Credits?
Generating a new image ✅ Yes
AI Edit ✅ Yes
ReImagine ✅ Yes
Add Logo (creating a One-Time Logo Image) ✅ Yes
Creating an Auto-brand Template ✅ Yes
Each action saves a fresh asset to your Media Gallery — and each new asset uses a credit. You can always go back to an earlier version of an image; it lives on in your Gallery.

Unused credits roll over — they don't expire

Didn't use up your credits this billing cycle? No worries — unused credits roll over into the next cycle. They accumulate, with no cap, so whatever you don't spend stays in your pool for next time.

Per-user credit limits

Beyond your org's total, individual users can have their own credit limits set by an admin. If you have a personal limit, you'll see your remaining credits on the Media Gallery page.

For info on managing user limits, see Setting Geppetto credit limits.

Running low? Here's how you'll know

Two visual cues tell you it's time to think about credits:
  • In the Media Gallery – Next to your "Org Credits Remaining" display, a bolded "Need more credits?" link appears.
  • In the Image Editor – The credits field changes to a yellow warning state with a warning icon.

What happens at zero credits

When org credits hit zero, you can't generate or edit images. But your existing Media keeps working — you can browse and download anything in your Gallery, use your existing Media images in Custom Templates, and create new Custom Templates with images you've already generated.

Two ways to get more credits

  • Top up with one-time credits. Email support — they can add a one-time credit purchase to your org. These credits don't expire.
  • Upgrade your plan. If your team consistently runs through your subscription credits, support can help you move to a bigger Geppetto plan. Upgrades typically apply right away.

Quick tips

  • Each action is a fresh charge. AI Edit, ReImagine, Add Logo, and Auto-brand Template creation each create a brand-new asset and use credits — write a clear prompt the first time when you can.

  • Trial accounts get a fixed allocation. If your org is on trial, you can use Geppetto up to your trial credit limit. When the trial converts to a paid subscription, credits start fresh from the new allocation.
